Grain
Code of Conduct
Last updated: 1 July 2026
Everyone is welcome
Whoever you are, whoever you’re open to meeting, and whatever you’re looking for, you belong here. We ask everyone to treat every other guest with respect, regardless of gender, sexuality, relationship status, background, or anything else.
Consent, always
Consent matters in every interaction, big or small. Ask before you touch someone, ask before you assume interest, and take “no” as a complete answer the first time. Harassment of any kind, verbal, physical, or online, is not tolerated, at the event or afterwards.
Photos
Ask before you photograph or film someone else, and respect it if they’d rather not be in the shot. Never share a photo of another guest without their okay.
Keeping the room safe
Our hosts and staff are watching out for everyone in the room. If someone’s behaviour makes the space feel unsafe or unwelcome for others, they can be asked to leave, and may be barred from future Grain events, at our discretion and without a refund.
If something goes wrong
Tell a host or staff member on the night, they’re there to help. If you’d rather raise something afterwards, or in confidence, use our feedback form. Every report is read by a real person on the Grain team, and we take them seriously.
The spirit of it
Grain is built on the idea that the people worth knowing are usually already in someone else’s circle. Real connection, romantic or platonic, whether you’re single or not, starts with people who show up honestly and treat each other well. That’s the only rule that really matters, everything above is just what it looks like in practice.
